That’s exactly what a group of Sheffield Wednesday fans did this weekend – and it turned out perhaps exactly how you would think.

After a year of points deductions, ownership struggles and ultimately relegation, the fundraiser offered the Hillsborough faithful some light relief on the back of a tough season.

Among the Owls icons to be called up for the Wednesday XI included several familiar faces to Scottish football fans.
And one of them bagged FOUR goals on the day… out of TWENTY SEVEN in total!

The Scots in the Wednesday XI included Lee Bullen, Jon-Paul McGovern and Ross Wallace, as well as former internationals Liam Palmer (the current club captain), Jordan Rhodes and Steven Fletcher. Mais de esporte
Ex-Celtic star Glenn Loovens and former Motherwell midfielder Giles Coke were also in the squad.

Wallace was on the scoresheet with a cheeky chip but it was Fletcher who hit the net four times.
Loovens also earned praise for his display, with local outlet the Sheffield Star remarking that it looked like he could still put in a shift for real. Leia também: previsão do tempo recife
In the end, the ex-pro XI won the match 24-3 – despite the fan XI putting on their entire 15-man squad for the start of the second half!
Just over 3,000 fans turned up on the day, with former Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal returning to manage the legends side.
Wednesday have found new owners after the disastrous ownership of Dejphon Chansiri but will spend next season in League One.
As well as Palmer, another former Scotland international in Liam Cooper is currently on the club’s books.
